Announcing the 8th Annual International Composition for Orchestra Competition

The Asia America Symphony Association is pleased to announce its 8th Annual International Composition for Orchestra Competition.

Junior Division: up to age 17, Senior Division: ages 18 - 25

Junior Division: Winning composition to be performed Sunday April 18, 2010 by the Asia America Youth Orchestra at the James Armstrong Theater, Torrance, CA.

Senior Division: Winning composition to be performed Saturday June 5, 2010 by the Asia America Symphony Orchestra at the Aratani Japan America Theatre, Los Angeles, CA.

Open to all young composers up to 25 years of age.

All applicants must submit an original “Orchestral composition” (no vocals) lasting no more four minutes in length. The work can range from traditional, classical, jazz, to popular contemporary music. Junior Division: Small group to full orchestral. Senior Division: Composition for Orchestra only.

Prizes awarded to winner(s) in both divisions placing 1, 2 or 3.

To enter the competition, please complete the application form and submit your score & audio CD demo lasting no more than four minutes in length by February 22, 2010 to:
